Beth Marriott

I joined Fusion SEND Hub as a consultant teacher in January 2022 and my areas of specialist interest are Maths and EAL. I have been teaching for 12 years and during that time my roles have included Assistant Head for Inclusion, SENCO, Safeguarding Lead, KS1 and EYFS Leader and Teacher. I have experience of leading whole-school approaches to improve outcomes for learners with SEND and have developed policies to support behaviour, relationships and wellbeing for pupils in my settings. I completed the SENCO award in 2017 and have also completed a Mental Health First Aid qualification.

Within my role as a SENCO, I particularly enjoyed developing positive and empowering partnerships with parents to ensure the best outcomes for individual children and their families. Throughout my career in education, I have enjoyed using research to influence my own practice and support others and as part of this have previously worked on local authority projects to develop the use of concrete resources in Key stage 2 maths and to use innovative approaches to increase engagement for reluctant writers in Key stage 1.

I have always been passionate about ensuring that children with SEND access an education that is truly inclusive and that enables them to thrive, and I continue to apply this to my work within Fusion SEND Hub.  I enjoy working collaboratively and value working together with schools to develop staff’s skills and confidence in order to provide the most effective and supportive provision for individual pupils.
